Online branding represents or represents different standards used to identify a person’s reputation or expertise with regards to a business, brand, product or service. Online branding is very important in business as the name, figure of authority and portrays a clear image about the person or business. The more known the person or the business is and the more questions are asked about the people or the business the more the importance of online branding is solved.

How do you decide on the best online branding names for your business?

  1. A name is either too long or too short

There are some names that are obviously too long. People are going to spend more time taking a hard look and trying to identify it for sure. Some of the main searches or phrases used to help identify a long website address is the person’s name or brand name if applicable. The “short” name, the important notes of information that come with the website address is another example of a too long name. It is better to take some time and choose a name that doesn’t have any of those names or phrases.

  1. People searching for a name with a particular spelling or format

Sometimes people have a hard time coming up with a name that does not match the common spelling. The common spelling can be a problem for most people, although it doesn’t matter if the name is easy to remember, it is better to choose a name that is going to be easier for someone to remember. If something specifically defined by numbers is required, the common spelling is much easier. Another common practice people have is to type some letters in order. In some sources it is easier to come up with something like this.: “Dell Computers” than it is to type a long internet URL address. The easier that short name is to remember, the more likely it is that people are going to be searching for that.

  1. Different names are good and names are bad

Many times when a website is being designed the name used for that particular business is the best label or name. This is something that the company learned, had a decision or opinion about and the name fits. They do not have to pay for that name as it is most likely what a lot of people are familiar with having to do with a specific business.

  1. The domain name related

Having a website address like business.xxxx.com does not mean that it is telling people that this is the brand name for a given company and should be recognized in relation to that. When using one of those now called URL Shorteners there could be a lot of people searching for it out of curiosity. It is important for the people that know that it is a thing they want to purchase or need to to purchase. They do not want to be confused by others finding the domain address associated with a website address like this, even if it is the very same site.

  1. Do not get your customers confused

People might not have any problems with typing an address like businessname.xxxx.com especially if they know they were searching for one of those very short URLs. The problem is when they type random 5 letter words and do not know what the actual name is is the problem and someone may be confused.
