It brings me great pleasure to present this wonderful written piece by my husband Glenn about the subject of AI….
“As artificial intelligence (AI) gradually becomes more sophisticated, it’s natural to wonder how it will affect our lives. Some believe that AI could lead to massive unemployment as machines take over many human jobs. Others believe that AI will create new opportunities and make our lives easier. So, what’s the truth? How will AI really affect us? In this blog post, we’ll explore the pros and cons of AI and discuss how it is likely to shape our future.
One common fear is that as AI becomes more and more capable, it will eventually be able to replace humans in most if not all jobs. We may begin seeing wholesale unemployment as machines take the place of workers on assembly lines and even in offices. Artificial intelligence can produce automated chat bots designed to do everything from taking orders for fast food to managing customer service requests. Already, there are self-driving cars and automated customer service agents in the works by various companies, so it’s possible that in the future much of our everyday life will be handled by AI.

It’s true that Artificial Intelligence is increasing exponentially in how well it can perform many cognitive tasks , but this doesn’t necessarily translate into AI replacing humans in all jobs. Artificial intelligence is not really one technology but many, and not all of these technologies are equally capable of taking over large numbers of jobs. For example, while automated chat bots may be able to handle some customer service requests more cheaply than a human service representative can, they aren’t capable of doing the kind of critical thinking and problem-solving that a human can. Artificial intelligence may be capable of performing many tasks better than humans, but there are some things that will likely remain exclusively in the realm of people with brains made of grey matter. AI won’t take over all jobs, but it could become a major player in the workforce.
Another problem is that Artificial Intelligence won’t be distributed uniformly throughout the economy, but instead will concentrate in a relatively small number of companies and institutions. Even if AI doesn’t replace all jobs, it could lead to big changes in our labor market. Many experts predict that AI will lead to dramatic income inequality , with a small number of people being very rich and everyone else being left behind. This could lead to mass unemployment as Artificial Intelligence makes many jobs obsolete, leaving an insufficient number of jobs for all those who would like to work. With less income available to the average worker, it will be difficult for them to acquire homes and cars and other things that require a significant amount of money. Artificial Intelligence could lead to mass unemployment and a major economic crisis if it isn’t implemented in such a way that benefits everyone, not just the rich.
Of course, Artificial Intelligence is unlikely to cause an economic collapse all on its own; instead, much depends on how we approach Artificial Intelligence as individuals and as a society. Artificial Intelligence may well put a lot of people out of work, but this doesn’t necessarily have to be a problem if we find ways for those people to participate in the economy. In addition, Artificial Intelligence will open up new types jobs not yet imagined as it becomes more and more sophisticated. AI could lead to a vibrant, highly productive economy that provides jobs for everyone. Artificial Intelligence is likely to bring about some big changes in the future, but it doesn’t have to be a disaster if we plan ahead and do what’s necessary to get everyone back on their feet again.
The world is changing faster than ever before, and artificial intelligence (AI) will continue to shape our lives in ways that may be difficult to predict. Some people are excited about the potential for AI to finally solve some of society’s major problems, while others fear a future where humans have been reduced from their current status as “master designer” of technology into mere laborers who serve machines. When it comes down to it, there is no way we can know what life will look like with or without this new technological power driving everything around us – but one thing seems certain: Change is coming whether we want it or not.”
